Hello all, I have a 2004 Nissan Micra, the PS red right came on for some times and left me no power steering, steering became very heavy, and it's been two month I still drive it daily it does increase some my arm strength:) but the other hand Nissan would charge me a leg for a whole new steering column unit. So I wannt to try if I can solve it out myself before offer my leg:(
Nissan Micra electric power steering failure seems like a common issue with the model, but I dug hard on internet just can't find a specific solution to solve it out. Then I bought an OBD II tool which is AUTEL MaxiDiag Elite MD802, it can't pick up any fault code from my Micra, and I did a clear error code the red PS light on dashboard wouldn't go away, it seems like the tool can't talk to electric power steering ECU, this economic small car shouldn't that difficult to work with, should it?
Here is the question, can Nissan DataScan II talk to EPS ECU and detect the fault code and turn off the PS red light on dashboard? I need to find out what's the fault code was the vehicle hiding, this might help me to find a economic solution to solve the problem out, thank you in advance.
Can NDS II turn off Nissan Micra PS red light?
Re: Can NDS II turn off Nissan Micra PS red light?
Sorry, the NDSII software can not connect and diagnose the EPS ECU.
This must be a common problem as we have been asked this question a number of times. There doesn't seem to be a simple solution. The only tool I could suggest is the Nissan Consult III tool.
