Connection Failed

Post by illvillecat »

Tom,

I'm testing the unregistered version on my 2003 Nissan Maxima. I am able to find ECU from Settings > Communication. From the ECM tab when I click connect I receive a "Connection failed" message. Is this the expected behavior for the unregistered version? Thanks

This is not an expected behavior. You should be able to connect and get the ECM part number.

When you run the ECU Find function what ECU Ids do you get?

Those are the ABS and SRS ecus. Looks like your engine ecu (ECM 10) is not responding. Is the engine running?

No. I have the key turned to the position right before you start the car.

Try with the engine running or it doesn't start?

Tom the car does not currently start. It is currently immobilized as the red security light on the dash is illuminated when in the on position.

You should be able to connect to the engine ECU even if the car is immobilized. Maybe there is a problem with the ECU.
