I suspect this is because of the ELM327 version. We haven't tested v2.1 yet. We are in the process of getting some for testing.
Try sourcing an adaptor with ELM327 v1.4 or v1.5
ODBII bluetooth dongle for Android fail with Nissan DataScan
Re: ODBII bluetooth dongle for Android fail with Nissan Data
We have now confirmed some ELM327 v2.1 chips don't support the "Set Tester ID" command. This command is necessary for NDSII app.
Re: ODBII bluetooth dongle for Android fail with Nissan Data
I have a similar issue but using a ELM 327 Interface dongle which shows the following information:
Adapter name: ODBII II
version: ELM327 v1.5
ECU Type: (nothing shows in this field)
ECU No: (nothing shows in this field)
Status shows Connected but after a short time or when you try to retrieve any information the status goes to: Set tester ID failed.
If I hit the "connect" button again, it flashes a "connecting" message, then a "connected to ODBII" message, this time the information shows:
Adapter name: ODBII II
version: (nothing in this field)
ECU Type: (nothing shows in this field)
ECU No: (nothing shows in this field)
and the status line it shows;
Status: Set tester ID failed.
Don't really what to continue wasting money if it is not going to work, as all I want to do is check the error codes to insure that there are no hidden ones.
Thanks.
