Using on a windows tablet 8.1

Hi I have all the cables from blazt and have been running the software on laptops all these years, is the datascan 1 software able to run on a windows 8.1 tablet? I'm looking at getting rid of the laptops and using the tablet as an in car multimedia, my primary goal being is to run datascan.

NDSI works on tablets with the Win 8.1 Pro. The standard version requires special apps.

What are the special apps? I've been running NDSI on an old XP laptop for a while now but please can you clarify if I can just start running it on a Win 8.1 tablet if I get the right cable or bluetooth adapter.

NDSI will work on Win 8.1 Pro but not the RT version. The RT version can not run the normal Windows software.
