NDSII for Android released

Hi Tom. This is a picture of my car OBD connector. As you can see, pins 7 and 15 for DDL2 (J1962) are not. From what I can assume, that NDS II, it will never work in our cars.

So, with that protocol working our cars?

Our car is a mixture of Consult I protocol with Consult II connector?

You could run NDS I, with conectror ELM327?

That confirms the diagram. Your car is still using the older Consult I protocol over pins 12, 13, 14.
You can not use an ELM327 adaptor.
You need a Consult I adaptor with an OBDII plug.

Thank you very much Tom . The problem is that the adapter type does not exist. I would have to make one .

He had thought of buying an old 14-pin connector and solder the wires needed to run .

This way , you would have the two connectors for OBDII diagnostic Niisan , and 14 pin connector to plug an adapter consultbt .

Hi Tom,
any chance on getting the NDS software to connect to the transmission module please. The gearbox is similar on many Nissan's and some infiniti...but not sure all use the same protocol or not.

The transmission ECU is supported by the PC version but not the Android app. At this stage we haven't planned adding support for other ECUs.

A lot of cars mix protocols. They use Consult II (DDL 2) for ECM and Consult I (DDL 1) for transmission. None of the existing OBDII adaptors can support it so we don’t want to implement functions that may or may not work. It just opens doors for negative feedback.

Ok understood. How do you find out about protocols from the modules?

It's best to look at the ECU wiring diagram. If it has a single communication line it's Consult II (DDL 2). If it has 2 lines (Tx and Rx) it's Consult I (DDL 1).

Hi Tom. I'll tranladar this thread, the forum NDSI. I'm making a cable to use my OBDII connector as if it were a 14-pin connector.
