Re: Cant connect
My friend who's a Nissan tech, called me yesterdays to inquire about my project, I kind of explain the situation. He told me that last time when he came he checked the timing and it was all good, I didn't remember that but at least that make one less thing to verify. He will come to my garage and check the voltage on the ECU, he said the fact that the engine doesn't start could be related to a single or multiple cause, since the engine fire up last year. He said it could be a power supply shortage to the ECU wether positive of negative, I have a voltmeter but I'm very average when it come to to check resistance, voltage and such, I need a bit of direction. I'm going to remove the actual ECU today and plug in the second ECU, I know the car won't start because of the key, I'm not even going to try that, I just want to see if I can connect with DTSII, that should give me a direction to put the efforts. One way or another that would be surprising if I end-up having 2 faulty ECU, but who know's what happened. That's about it for now. I'll keep you posted.

Re: Cant connect
Hi, this afternoon I replaced the ECU on my 2001 cali spec Nissan Maxima 20th anniversary. I know the key has to be reprogram and I have the instruction on how to do it, but for reasons I can't explain the NDSII doesn't connect to the ECU.
My el cheap ODB II reader could connect with both ECU, the previous ECU had a PO505 code, (IACV related issue) and after swapping the ECU for the spare one this afternoon I get the P1611 which is related to Immobilizer control module/engine control module (ECM) - coding, now I know I have to reprogram the key but in order to do so I need the software to connect to the ECU, BTW the serial number of the ECU has never showed up on both ECU.
Every time I hit the start button, I see the message below saying cable firmware and the connection failed message come shortly after. I'm out of idea as of now, with the repaired ECU the engine didn't start and the company who fix the ecu has tested the unit prior to ship it back, they also said that they key didn't need to be reprogram.
I was thinking that the cable might be the culprit, but since the NDSII software is able to detect the cable in Com port 3 it leave me speech less...
I was reading that the offset might need to be adjusted, I saw there was either negative value and positive, does anyone have the offset for the Maxima ?
Beside that I dont know what to do and I need help to at least hooked up the NDS II and perhaps find what's the f... problem.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Cant connect
I just update the USB drivers and still can't hook to the ECU, I have also tried all the different ini offset value and nothing, that really sucks.
I'm going to hook it up to my 2014 Frontier Truck and confirm if it hook to the ECU, otherwise it would have to be the cable.

Re: Cant connect
I tried to hook up the NDSII on the Frontier and I have the same f...error message, at this point I have to think that the Blazt USB adaptor is the culprit.
So to me it mean that the cable has never worked and I have spent all that valuable time losing my time and patience. Some one have to step in and help me fix this asap.
P.S: I have sent an e-mail to Jason ( I bought the kit from him)
Now where do I get a replacement cable ?

Re: Cant connect
Hey Speedworkz, the software has a lots of great feature but if you can't use it, no matter the price paid, then it's useless. The lack of support is killing me right now, no bash to anyone here as this is the plain reality we have to deal with. I used to own a high tech company and the support we gave to user was light year from average. As a consultant I kept telling software developer to sell the customer a yearly subscription which include software upgrade and customer support, then with the cash you can hire a tech support specialist that will help customer. Most serious customer will pay to get great service and support, being stuck for months without being able to advance a project is very frustrating. The software and cable cost me what 200$, which is cheap, but it is the enormous time spent in order to get this to work without any luck that is a non sense. If at least we can get direction... Anyway I should get the cable soon and see if I can get this to work at last.

Re: Cant connect
Finally got the new VAG KKL USB adaptor, installed the drivers that came with the adaptor but when I try to connect I got some error message " Adaptor not found " I'm wondering if there is any installation instruction for this adaptor with NDSII ?
Ane answer would be appreciate.

Re: Cant connect
Go to your device manager and check what Com Port number is assigned to your adaptor under "Ports (COM & LPT)". Then go to NDSII->Settings->Communication and enter the Com Port number. Remember to select "Generic adaptor" if you are using the VAG KKL USB adaptor.
You can find more detailed instructions in the User Manual located in NDSII download section.

hi Tom, I just read this thread and I know its 2 years old, apparently the engine on his a33 is for an a32 as shown in the picture with the maf sensor... nds2 will not be able to read this no matter what... it should be nds1... just my thoughts
