That will be the problem. The torque adapter formats the data differently and the app doesn't recognise it.

There will be an update to the app coming out in the next couple of weeks. It should fix some of those problems. If not, I would suggest getting one of the cheap ELM 327 Bluetooth adapters from eBay.

Hi Tom,
it is not a Torque adapter, it is one of these

In your first post you said:

"The adapter is this version
"ELM327 Bluetooth Torque Latest V2.1 OBDII/OBD-II/OBD2 Protocols Car Auto Diagnostic Scan Tool ELM 327 - Android Black/Orange (DC 12V)"

so it sounds like it is an adaptor designed to work with Torque.

Did you try the updated app?

Ni did not try the updated app, somehow my apps are not getting updates....will give it a go.

The description is probably not accurate considering the calibre of the sellers here in UAE.

Hi,
still no success, I can get Car gauge lite to connect. And seems that is what I am going to have to use, which is a pity as I would really like to use NDSII since I have the PC versoin and also paid for the NDSII android version. :|

I attach the screen shot of the connected adapter, this time displaying the correct name and version.

Also you should know that the google play apps did not tell me that there was an update available, and when I went to the page of the NDSII software on google play, it does not have a update option. I managed to uninstall and reinstall the software from google play, I know it is the updated version as there is now a 4th screen available called Work Support, which was not there in the earlier version.

OK. It looks like the data formating for this adaptor is different than others. I would suggest getting one of the adaptors that we have tested. See the Supported Adaptors page http://home.exetel.com.au/nds/NDSIIA/in ... edadaptors

Hi Tom, the adapter I have, is one of the ones listed on the page that you have tested. What version did you test?

Just bought a Bluetooth device as listed on your link, same problem. Software recognises the device, with version and Elm. But nothing else. Please confirm you have got these to work with patrol Tb48e engines.

Tom any idea why my second adapter, as you had recommended is not working as well. I have paid for the android app and can not use it, but hoping that there is a simple fix. :D

Hi there

i have a similar problem. I bought a TIMETOM Mini V1.5 ELM327 ODB2 Bluetooth ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Diagnostic-ELM3 ... LM327+ODB2)

I get the same model number displayed on the phone but no further connection information or ECU type - and no data from the car
