03 Infiniti FX35

Post by WietseFX35 »

Hello all,

I am new here.
I own a '03 Infiniti FX35 and i downloaded the NDS II v2.52 to do some fault finding on my car.
As i don't have a licence yet, i just tried to communicate with the car trough my Blazt II OBD2 connector and it does work.
I know that not all functions are working as it's a non registered product but before i purchase a licence i have a few questions.

I am able to connect to the ECU, ABS and OBD2 interface, as it's showing the ECU part numbers and says it connected.
But i can not connect to the BCM, TCM and SRS interface, is this because of the limitation of the non registered version or is this not possible at all?

Before i had NDS II v1.3 and this was only able to retrieve the fault codes on the engine manengment.
Does v2.52 also retrieve the fault codes for the ABS etc. or will this still be limited to just the engine ECU?

Hopefully you guys have some experience with this combination and are able to tell me when i purchase a licence i have full access to all functions and fault code retrieval.

First of all welcome to the forum.

The unregistered version of NDSII gives you exactly the same connections as the licensed version. If you can not connect to your BCM, TCM or SRS ecus you will not be able to connect with the fully licensed version either.

The reason why you can not connect to the other ecus is because Nissan mixed different diagnostics protocols on the same cars. Your ECM and ABS ecus use the Consult II protocol over the k-line and your other ecus probably use the older Consult I protocol over Rx and Tx lines. The BlaztII adaptor and NDSII software works only with the ConsultII over k-line ecus.

Yes, you can retrieve fault codes from the ABS ecu with the full version. See the screen shot http://home.exetel.com.au/nds/NDSII/ind ... elfdiagabs

Currently there is no solution for you to be able to connect to all ECUs.

Thank you for your welcome and reply.

Your answer clears it all up.
Too bad it can not connect to the transmission as well.
Is there any software/adaptor combination that is capable of connecting with all ecu's and still comes with a affordable hobby price?
My local garage is able to get into all of them with an advanced Bosch scan tool but i would like to do these things myself if this is possible without paying a huge price of course.
Otherwise i better bring it to the garage for a scan insted of paying 100's of dollars.

So if we connect Rx and Tx to Consult I adapter and start NDSI can we connect to SRS ECU ?
