1998 Pathfinder R50

Post by system-f »

I am slightly confused and this is more for curiosity. The website says the datascan II works with my 98 R50 with the VG33E and I guess this is through the OBDII port? I also have a 14pin Nissan Consult port so will DataScan I work with my vehicle?

Regardless, I have followed the websites instructions and ordered one of the compatible OBDII to USB interfaces and will then test the software.

One thing I noticed on the compatibility webpage is that the R50 is listed as having the VG33DE and VQ35DE. I think the VG33 only came as an "E" (VG33E)as it never had dual overhead cams from the factory, but maybe there is something non-USD I do not know about?

Thanks again

I would recommend you use the NDSI and 14pin adaptor. This would give you a lot more data using the Nissan Consult I protocol.
The OBDII connector is probably only for very basic diagnostics. In Australia even the 200x models VG33E cars didn't have fully implemented Consult II protocol.

What adapters will work with the 14pin connector?

PLMS adaptors are good and reliable.
