Hello
Nissan DataScan can't connect with the ABS module, while other apps on cheap bluetooth devices can connect just fine. I found that the CAN ID for each module can be changed in the communication settings, but how do I find out what is the CAN ID for the ABS or any module?
Is there a detailed user manual for NDSIII? I searched extensively without any luck.
Thank you.
Could not connect to ABS, but will connect with other programs (CAN ID?)
Re: Could not connect to ABS, but will connect with other programs (CAN ID?)
The NDSIII software is preconfigured with the default CAN IDs for each module. If you can not connect to the ABS module there is a good chance that module is still using k-line for diagnostics.
Try the "Test for k-line ECUs" function under Settings->Communication. See if you get any active ECUs.

Hello Tom
I cannot connect to both ABS and SRS. I clicked the button for "Test for k-line ECUs" and I found three modules:
EDU Id 1F - unkown - active.
EDU Id 28 - ABS - active. Supported by NDSIII
EDU Id 58 - SRS - active. Supported by NDSIII

Is there anyway I can find out what is the first ECU? How can I edit the communication information for both ABS/SRS?
Thank you

Re: Could not connect to ABS, but will connect with other programs (CAN ID?)
You would need to use the NDSII software to connect to the ABS and SRS ecus. It actually says "Supported by NDSII" not NDSIII.
Not sure what ECU Id 1F is. It's not something our software supports.

Thank you. Can I use NDS II with my NDS III licenses?
For curiosity's sake, do you why these two modules need NDS II?

You can't use NDSII with NDSIII license. It's a different software.
Those 2 modules use k-line for diagnostics rather than the CAN bus. It's a different type of connection and protocol. It's like they are using a dial-up modem connection and the rest of your modules use an ADSL or cable modem. You get pretty much the same info but the connection is different (and speed).
Why those 2 modules? That's something only Nissan can answer.
