Program crashes when icon clicked. 350z hr

I tried a different computer and the issue is no longer present. However I am
getting CAN filter fail error when trying to connect.

The CAN filter fail error means you are not using a K+CAN adaptor.

VAG KKL adaptor is not the correct one? I don't know why I assume KKL VAG was the correct cable.
What does K plus can mean. Communication on both K and CAN LInes?

Yes. K+CAN means it works with the k-line and the CAN bus.
