elgrand e51 2002 no communication

Post by shiftybiscuits »

i just bought the nds2 software and a vag com 409.1 cable, i then set up the com ports accordingly and the laptop recognises the cable and its working as far as the laptop goes. however i cannot connect to the car at all. i just get the conn failed in the bottom left corner, i try to find ecu and it comes up with nothing. no live data, no codes. nada.
i see there are several posts with the same problem but no solutions i can find on any of the threads. surely someone must have gotten to the bottom of this. i have seen other people successfully using this cable and software on the elgrands so i cant see why im having no luck with it.

Try adjusting the "Ini timer offset" under Settings->Communication. Try positive and negative values.

Hi Tom, have you had any progress on this issue? I am experiencing the same problem and have adjusted the values + & - with no success.

Did anyone resolve this issue? New to JDM cars, trying to use NDS2 on an E51 Elgrand as well. I can only connect to SRS but no other ECU's, I have given the app administrator permissions and tried two cables now with no luck. I've tried all the Ini Timer Offset options and different COM Ports too, also reinstalled NDS2. Banging my head against a wall here
