COM1 unable to connect

I just downloaded the software and registered it. I have the VAG-COM KKL 409.1 cable and i cant get it to work. The computer has widows 8 on it. the computer just sees the cable as a usb 2.0. what do i do. I should also add that i could not get any com ports to work with the vag co software either

You need to install a driver for your VAG-COM KKL 409.1 cable. The driver will assign it a Com Port number that you then enter into the NDSII software.
