Sorry to cross post, but this link to 300ZXClub.com contains much trouble shooting I've already executed.

But as the title says...I've had NDS for while and new version of the PLMS cable. Less than a year old. It works flawlessly on my 91 2+2 TT, but not on my 90 NA. I've tried adjusting the PLMS Com Port latency setting, re-"Find ECU", etc. There's really not a whole lot to try within NDS itself.
In short, I can connect to the ECU, but only if the car is off with the ignition at the ACC position. Once I turn the car on, all connectivity is lost and F1 Data Display button becomes inactive.
Anyone have any suggestions? Please help.

you get connected you when your engine operates?
my S14, it happens that the connection may stop when I start the engine
I reconnect and it's good
