Additional Work Functions

Post by cs2000 »

Not sure if there's any way to do this, but thought id ask.

NDS II can already perform the "Idle Air Learning" function under ECM and Work Support, however theirs a few other useful functions that you can also perform using the "Pedal Dance" or key turning method, these are all shows on the Horsham Developments website.

https://h-dev.co.uk/350z-reset-proceedure-pedal-dance/

Is there any way NDS II or III could add these work functions in? Doing pedal dance/key turning techniques does work (just as it does with the idle air volume learn, but timing is a pain in the ass, its easier if you can click a button!

Whilst on the subject of idle air volume, these are certain conditions that need to be satisfied before the car will perform this relearn, they are:
Battery voltage: More than 12.9V (At idle)
Engine coolant temperature: 70 – 100°C (158 – 212°F)
Park/neutral position (PNP) switch: ON
Electric load switch: OFF (Air conditioner, headlamp, rear window defogger)
Steering wheel: Neutral (Straight-ahead position)
Vehicle speed: Stopped
Transmission: Warmed-up

Could the Work Support screen somehow accommodate these values and refuse to start the procedure of they are not met?

Thanks for the info and suggestions.

Unfortunately its not possible to initiate the Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning or Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning functions through a diagnostic tool. Those functions are actually performed automatically by the ECU. The car just needs to be turned off and on a couple of times.

We have actually considered adding the conditions check for the IAVL function. There is a couple more parameters that the ECU looks at like Engine RPM, B/FUEL SCHDL and A/F ALPHA. If any of them are out of the "SPEC" value the procedure will fail. Unfortunately some of them differ between engine models and could create confusion for users.

Doing a simple check for the main ones is a good idea. We will look at adding it in the next update.
