I have a Nissan Terrano 2 year 2000 with a white 16pin obd2 port. I have a vag cable and tried using it with the Nissan data scan II and it doesn't work. It only works in generic obd2 mode. Does anyone have any ideas how to make this work?
I have been reading and cars from this year in particular the terrano can be complex. It might use the k line for the engine diagnostics and the old DDL lines for the other modules. I don't know. I have attached a picture of the port so that maybe someone might know from the pin out.
PS: At the dealership they use the Nissan Consult II machine.
Thanks very much for any help.

Have you tried connecting from the ECMD tab?
Also try the "Find ECU" function under settings communication. See if you get any active ECU IDs.
