EL Grand Connection Issues

Post by shandusama »

Hi Tom I am from the caribbean

I recently purchased a 2002 Elgrand its a 6 cylinder, I purchased the program about 1 hr agoin hopes of using it to aid me in my maintenance. I was able to connect to the ECM and the ABS but everything else fails.
What could be the problem.

Also would clearing the self learn reset the ecu to factory setting or would i cause it to lean out?

I find it was using too much fuel

Unfortunately your Elgrand is still using the older Consult I protocol for diagnostics on some ECUs. So you will only be able to connect to the ECM, ABS and on some models SRS.

Clearing self learn will clear the fuel trims that the ECU learned. It will bring it to factory setting and the ECU will start the learning process again.
Whats too much fuel? Your fuel economy might be related to the 6 cylinders:)

ECMD is for diesel engines and doesn't apply to your car. OBDII is not supported on most Japanese imports.

So what ECUs are you able to connect to?
