2011 US Xterra ECU ID

Post by mikes »

Trying the unregistered NDS2 with an eBay "VAG KKL" interface to make sure things talk before I pay for the real thing.

"Supported vehicles" says "Nissan Xterra N50 (VQ40DE) - ECM"

It doesn't connect to the ECM with the default settings. I did a "Find ECU," where it found 1D, 28 (ABS) and 58 (SRS). Is 1D the ECM? I changed the ECM field in settings to 1D, and NDS2 talks to it, but nothing to indicate _what_ it's talking to. It does not come up with an ECU PART NUMBER after connecting that way.

The factory service manual shows ABS ECU, the Air Bag Diagnosis Sensor Unit, and the ECM all connected to pin 7 of the DLC - the "K line." The ECM is also connected to CAN, pins 6 & 14.

Is there some way to confirm I'm actually communicating with the ECM, and will be able to program transponder keys (which will be the justification for buying NDS2). Oh, should I be able to connect to OBDII? I can't.
