NDS! - New customer Maxima/I30 issue

Post by OwnerCS »

I purchased NDS1 to use with my 14 pin ECUTalk cable. I currently use the ECUTalk cable and software on the following cars.

1) 91 Infiniti Q45
2) 99 Infiniti I30 Automatic
3) 99 Maxima SE 5-speed
4) 97 Maxima GL 5-speed

Basically ECUTalk 14 pin cable and ECUTalk software work fine on all of the vehicles listed above.

I purchased NDS1 to perform a power balance test and to use the NDS type tool for the vehicles listed above.

NDS1 works fine on the 91 Q45 with the ECUTalk cable, so I know the product is installed correctly and it does function with the cable and drivers on COM3.

NDS1 will query the ECU for the Maximas and the I30, but stops at that point and will not allow any other functions to work. Does NDS1 really support 4th gen Maximas and I30s? I see the A32 listed in the supported vehicles listing. The A32 14 pin connection and cable does work with ECUTalk software -- so I know Peter figured it out. ;)

Here's is a picture of NDS1 working with the Q45 where all of the function buttons are active and working.

Here is a picture of NDS1 on the I30 where ECU query is complete and the product hangs with two progress bars.

It looks like the ECU Id on your I30 is not the default 0xEF. Try changing the ECM ECU Id to ED under Settings->Communication. You might also need the "96 model z32" check box.

Last night I tried all ECU codes ED, EA, E7, DC, and DA -- basically all of the ones listed in the ECU detect list. It looks like the progress bar got a little further but still no connection.

I will try the z32 option tonight.

Is there any kind of log that I can send you to show the codes being returned by the ECU or like ACK/SYN-ACK responses?

Also, is there a "DEBUG" mode that I need to select to provide you with a log of the connection attempt information?

I found the following document from PLMS

http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/files/1 ... isters.pdf

Are there any .ini files that I need to change to setup NDS1 for my 99 A32 as indicated in the document? Is there a way to have a set of presets that I can use to easily switch between my 91 Q45, 99 A32 and the 97 A32?

The PLMS cable looks like the one I have from ECUTalk. I think the ECUTalk cable is missing one wire that may drive the lights on the PLMS cable.

It works by changing the ECUid to ED and turning on the 96 Z car switch.
