Will the III software work with older vehicles?

Post by nicobruen » 20 Feb 2020, 17:20

I have an 06 qx56. The wife just bought a 12 Armada. Can i use NDSCAN III to work on both vehicles? Also, are the adaptors different for the different years? Really what i need to be able to do is program some keys, and everything i have found online tells me that is a dealer only job. Is this true? our closest dealership is about 2 hours away.

The NDSIII windows PC software will work with newer cars that support diagnostics via CAN bus. This will most probably apply to your Armada. It doesn't support older cars that use k-line for diagnostics. The NDSII software works with the k-line cars.

Yes, the NDSII and NDSIII Windows PC software support key programming.

The Vag Com K+CAN adaptor works with NDSII and NDSIII software. The Vag Com KKL adaptor only works with the NDSII software.
