White wire fix?

Post by r32gtr »

Hi guys,

I bought a bluetooth consult adaptor (here: http://m.cardiag.co.uk/nissan-conult-bl ... dorid.html ) to use on my 93 r32 gtr. I get the ini failed message which others have had on the android app and nothing at all on the desktop (I've tried changing com ports).

Seen mention of the white wire fix, including the pic in this thread:

Have attached a pic of what my device looks like, do I need to apply the white wire fix?

Thanks in advance!

Just to update the thread. I decided to just have a crack at this fix. It worked perfectly and can now see the data on the Android app!

Next investigation is why I can't sort it out on desktop :)

There is actually no way to tell from a picture if the white wire fix is required or not. The fault is within the PCB layers and it's not visible from outside.

Your desktop issues are probably related to the way Windows handles Bluetooth connections. Not very well and unreliably.

If I would have seen this and compared it to the white wire fix, I would have said yeah, you need it bc your board is laid out exactly the same. My board is different than your's so I am in a dilemma myself
