data logging and replay

Post by gtirnick »

Any chance you can add datalogging of rpm, tps, and speed with a replay function
would be great to be able to see this to compliment my race logger...
or somehow feed this data into harry's laptimer
or record video, overlay rpm, tps, speed info, and some external gps data?

Little OT or if android version is to complicate for this can PC NDS I include DLP IO8 input?
Now 200U$ Onda W8.1 Intel tablet is working flawlessly with NDS I and Nistune (and with USB hub I get data from WB and DLP so no need any more for big laptops in car for logging) so if we can get any sensor with DLP (fuel pressure, MAP G-force etc) we would have everything in one file, and as for export of this data Racerender will be ideal:

http://racerender.com/RR2/docs/Dataloggers.html
http://racerender.com/Developer/

it would be nice function to export log with throttle position, ECT ,AFR something like this for Subaru:

I can confirm that Racerender works perfectly with Subaru logging & ecu reflashing software called Ecuedit and OBD II<->USB cable Tactrix Openport
Basically overlaying any engine sensor data you can log is possible with fast refreshing frequency. Also free Romraider program should work the same way.

Video filmed with GoPro Hero3,
GPS speed, "g-force" and trackmap with Racechrono[/quote]

I'll be prepare to buy separate application for these functions and I don't think that it is only me :)

I like the idea of data log for Racerender. I think it would be a popular feature. Everyone is using doing videos these days.
Will have to look into polling the GPS data.

i use an external BT gps source that does 10hz refresh http://www.qstarz.com/Products/GPS%20Pr ... 18XT-F.htm

Onboard video or even tapping into gopro over wifi would be welcome as well

I currently use this for a racelogger for autocross
http://www.petreldata.com/product/solos ... roid-v2-2/
incredibly powerful for instant feedback on entry speeds, lines, throttle %, brake points (can see from g load going forward or back) cornering G.
an example of solostorm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PfsM9e4y68

For track day stuff i use harry's laptimer , if ids for android could do something rudimentary as gps points, speed, tps, rpm, and g/acceleromter forces, and video it would be welcomed in my car.

the ability to see throttle %, speed and overlay gps data is huge

also the ability to set min max values for the various sensors would be handy, like my tps voltage min is 0.48 and max is 4.04v. the ability to turn this into a % would be handy

just some ideas. i'd welcome feature improvements of any form

We are working on an update for NDSI app now. It shouldn't be too far away.

Yes there is. The latest app version has a Video Recorder function. It saves a video and a log file in the Download\Videolog folder. This can then be used with Racerender to generate overlays.
Give it a go and see how it works for you.
