Description
The NDS III Android app is intended for the latest generation Nissan and Infiniti cars build after year 2008*. They are equipped with a 16 pin OBDII connecter and use a Consult III protocol over a CAN bus. The connector is usually located near the fuse box.
A list of cars that the software has been tested on is located on the Supported Vehicles page. The list is by no means comprehensive and is constantly being updated as new vehicles are tested.
The NDS III app supports petrol and diesel cars. It communicates with the engine ECU using Consult III protocol. It uses the same communication protocol as the dealer diagnostic tool. This protocol is far more comprehensive than the generic ISO15765 protocol.
A Bluetooth, WiFi or USB diagnostic adaptor is required to connect to the car. This app is design to work with adaptors build on the popular ELM327 chip. They are very well priced and available from many internet stores and eBay. See the recommended adaptors on the Supported Adaptors page.
The app supports factory OEM ECUs. Aftermarket ECUs are not supported.
Functions supported by the NDS III app are listed on the Functions page.
The NDSIII app can be downloaded from Google Play store NDS III app.
If you would like to test the connection to your car you can try the NDS III Lite app.
*Some vehicles manufactured after 2008 may still use K-line for diagnostics and require the NDS II software.
